We are however not finding an active unemployment insurance account associated with the FEIN provided which is a requirement for the business accounts. Typically we see this if a business does not have established W2 employees or if they utilize a PEO such as ADP or Trinet etc. for payroll purposes. *In the event that you use a PEO (Professional Employer Organization) we will need a letter from the PEO confirming that relationship. That letter can be emailed to VCCBusiness@labor.ny.gov. To be set up as a New Jersey W2 employer, you must take out unemployment insurance/disability insurance and gross income tax.
